Data Storage & Encryption

What We Encrypt

  • Form Data: All form profiles, passwords, and autofill information are encrypted using AES-256 before local storage
  • Authentication Tokens: Stored encrypted and rotated regularly
  • Automation Workflows: Sensitive workflow configurations are encrypted
  • Transmitted Data: All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.3
  • Account Credentials: Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plaintext

What We Don't Encrypt (Non-Sensitive Data)

  • Extension preferences (theme, UI settings) - stored in plaintext locally
  • Usage statistics (feature usage counts, not content) - anonymized before transmission
  • Error logs - stripped of sensitive information before transmission
  • Public profile information (display name, if provided)

Storage Locations

  • Local Browser Storage: Most data is stored locally in your browser using secure storage APIs
  • Cloud Storage: Encrypted account data and sync preferences stored on secure servers
  • Backups: Encrypted backups stored in secure cloud infrastructure

Data Sharing & Third Parties

Browserpa does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We may use third-party services (hosting, analytics, email) that process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or governmental regulation
  • Security: To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property, or that of our users
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice to users)

All third-party service providers are required to maintain the same level of data protection as Browserpa.

Automation & Workflow Data

Browserpa's automation features process data locally in your browser:

  • Workflow configurations you create are stored locally and encrypted
  • Task execution happens entirely in your browser - data is not transmitted to our servers
  • Automation logs are stored locally for debugging (you can clear them anytime)
  • Form autofill data is encrypted and stored locally, never transmitted unless you explicitly sync across devices

Privacy by Design: Automation features are designed to work offline and process data locally, minimizing data transmission and ensuring your workflows remain private.
